The United States is a direct accomplice to Israel's war crimes. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power has said publicly that she has made it her number one priority every month to meet with international institutions to block the entry of the state of Palestine to get legal protection because legal protection would constrain American power and Israeli power.

Even as the human toll of Israeli military action in Gaza mounts, the Obama administration continues to endorse Israel's "absolute right" of "self-defense." And it put the blame on Hamas for rejecting Egypt's cease-fire proposal.

Hamas is fighting to get Israel's blockade lifted because life in Gaza under blockade is hell. The Gaza strip has no clean water. It is without healthcare and basic necessities.

Hamas rejected Egypt's cease-fire proposal precisely because the conditions do not include ending the blockade. Hamas has now proposed a ten-year cease-fire with Israel in exchange for Israel's ending the siege of the civilian population in Gaza, with an internationally supervised airport and sea port.

But Israel wants open-ended occupation. And some in power in Tel Aviv wants to "kill all Palestinians." A nation that does not allow the existence of others calls into question its own survival.
