Paolo Vigano of Italy is the odds-on favorite to take gold in the Men's Individual Pursuit (LC4) on Tuesday afternoon after setting a new world and Paralympic record, taking four seconds off the previous best, and becoming the first LC4 rider to go under four minutes for the distance.
Vigano will be up against Germany's Michael Teuber, who came home with the second best time in the heats but still trailed six seconds behind Vigano. Both will be keen to make amends for their failures in the Men's 1km Time Trial (LC3-4) event on Sunday, September 14, Vigano in particular, who failed to make the medals despite setting a new world record in the LC4 class.
The bronze medal will be contested by Juan Jose Mendez of Spain and Erick Winkler of Germany, with Mendez the favorite.
