Aileen McGlynn of Great Britain and her pilot Ellen Hunter wrecked the gold medal hopes of Australia's Lindy Hou, piloted by Toireasa Gallagher, as the British pair sped away from the start in the final of the Women's Individual Pursuit (B&VI 1-3) on September 9 and never looked like they might be caught.
Hou was eager to avenge her defeat by McGlynn in the B&VI 1-3 Time Trial contested on Sunday but, despite going two seconds quicker than McGlynn in the pursuit heats, couldn't match the pace of the British rider in the final.
McGlynn and Hunter were three seconds up at 2km and, despite a spirited charge by Hou and Gallagher over the final kilometer, the gap at the finish was 1.5 seconds.
Hou had earned a bronze medal in the Time Trial event and now has silver to go with it.
The Individual Pursuit bronze went to current world record holder Karissa Whitsell of the United States and her pilot Mackenzie Woodring, coming home six seconds ahead of New Zealand's Jayne Parsons and her pilot Annaliisa Farrell.
