Sitting Volleyball Day 8 Preview: China aim to win gold again

Reigning Paralympic champions China will battle the United States, Athens 2004 bronze medalists, in the final of the Women's Sitting Volleyball at CAU Gymnasium on Sunday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m. (UTC/GMT +8)

World No. 1 and defending silver medalists Netherlands will compete against Slovenia for the bronze medal at 4:00 p.m.

United States v China --- Gold medal match

- The United States were the bronze medalists at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, and have won three out of four matches so far.

- The United States lost their preliminary round match to China 3-0.

- Katie Holloway is the United States' best scorer on spikes and blocks so far with 33 points. She is also the fifth best scorer of the tournament.

- China are the defending Paralympic champions and have not lost a single set at these Games.

- Sheng Yuhong is the best spiker of the tournament so far, with 64 spikes and a success rate of 40 percent. She is also the second best scorer at these Games so far with a total of 83 points (64 spikes, 8 blocks, 11 aces).

Netherlands v Slovenia -- Bronze medal match

- The Netherlands won the silver medal in Athens 2004, losing to China in the final.

- The Netherlands' performance at these Games kept getting worse. After winning their first match in straight sets, they won their second match 3-1 and the third 3-2, but lost the fourth 3-2.

- Djoke van Marum is the second best spiker of the tournament with 34 hits. She is also the second best server with 18 aces so far.

- Slovenia placed fourth in Athens 2004, and lost to the Netherlands 3-2 in the preliminary round.

- Anita Urnaut is the top scorer of the Games so far, with a total of 101 points (72 spikes, 19 blocks, 10 aces). She is also the best blocker of the tournament.

- Danica Gosnak is the best server of the tournament so far with 18 aces.
