A small crater partially buried in wind-blown ejecta from a much larger crater. These spectacular images from the red planet show the amazing landscape on the surface of our nearest planet. The scalloped sand dunes and giant craters, rocky outcrops and deep gullies have all been taken by a NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter satellite orbiting the fireball planet Mars 187 miles above its surface.
