The steam is seen gushing out of earth at the Yangbajain geothermal power station in Damxung of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, April 18, 2011. The Yangbajain geothermal power station, the biggest of this kind in China, has generated electricity of 2.5 billion kilowatts since it was built in 1977. According to Tibet Autonomous Region's outline of the next five years' plan, forms of renewable clean energy like solar, wind and terrestrial heat will be adopted in priority, so as to protect local environment.
