Shrek, New Zealand's most famous sheep, has died, its owner John Perriam said on June 7, 2011. Shrek, who had been sick for some time, had to be put down over the weekend, Perriam told local media. The renegade sheep shot to fame after being caught by musterers on Bendigo Station, Central Otago in New Zealand's South Island after six years on the run, sporting a fleece that weighed almost 27 kg (60 lb).[China Daily/Agencies]
