The People's Liberation Army (PLA) navy's missile destroyer "Yancheng" (pennant number 546) belongs to the made-in-China Type 054A missile destroyer which entered service officially in 2012. Equipped with advanced weapons and an optimally-designed fleet body, the frigate incorporates the sharing of information resources and comprehensive control of weapons, as well as multi-operational functions in terms of power support to the sea, air, and anti-submarine capabilities.
