Elephant orphanage in Nairobi

A breeder feeds an elephant calf at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi, capital of Kenya, April 7, 2013. Elephant calves orphanned by poaching are brought to the orphanage from all over the country. They receive extremely specialized treatment here, and literally receive personal care 24 hours a day from highly dedicated staff who become surrogate mothers to the calves. According to statistics of Kenya Wildlife Service, elephant population in the country is estimated at 37,000. [Photo/Xinhua]
