The story of West Lake Longjing tea

Editor’s note: April is a good time to pluck spring tea. The process of producing West Lake Longjing tea ( Dragon Well tea) is an interesting part of Hangzhou springtime.

Several tea pickers bring tea cages to tackle the delicate work in Longwu Town, which is 15 kilometers away from Hangzhou City. About half of West Lake Longjing tea bases are located in Longwu. Due to its suitable climatic and geographical conditions, this area has produced large quantities of tea since ancient times. The residents of Longcan Village in Longwu have grown tea for more than 500 years.
