During the Beijing Paralympic Games, staff at the Paralympic Village maintenance center for artificial limbs, orthopedic devices and wheelchairs have been hard at work, making sure athletes' equipment is in tip-top condition.
The center, which was used as a dining hall during the Olympics, has been receiving an average of 200 athletes a day since the Paralympic Village opened on Aug. 30. With a goal of repairing and improving the performance of artificial limbs and wheelchairs, the center is effectively providing a "pit-stop" service for the Paralympic athletes.
