A helicopter carrying CCTV journalists crashed on January 9, the fifth day of the Dakar Rally. As the journalists were tracking the action from 30 meters above, the craft developed a mechanical fault and plunged to the ground. No-one was injured but the helicopter’s rotor blades were badly damaged.
