Canadian skaters dominant in 1,000m at speedskating World Cup

Canadian skaters were dominant in the women's 1,000m race on Sunday at the speed skating World Cup in Berlin.

Christine Nesbitt seized the gold medal by clocking 1:16.86 while her teammate Shannon Rempel took the silver by 1:17.11.

Dutch sprinter Laurinevan Riessen, who was timed 1:17.21, grabbed the bronze.

Canada and the Netherlands are two powerhouses in speed skating. Earlier on Saturday, the Netherlands swept the top four places in the men's 1,500 meters.
