Goals from frontmen Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni swept Steaua Bucharest 3-0 in Munich on Tuesday, helping German champions Bayern Munich ease into the last sixteen of European Champions League.
A dominant Bayern eventually broke the deadlock through Klose in the 57th minute. Italian striker Toni made it 2-0 four minutes later and an excellent Klose bagged his own second and his side's third in the 71st minute.
Bayern ensured a top-two finish with one game to spare in Group F. Their final match, at Olympique Lyon on December 10th, will now decide who wins the group.
The victory leaves Jurgen Klinsmann's side unbeaten in 12 games, and snuffs out any flickering hopes the Romanian team still had of qualifying.
