Spaniard motorcyclist Cristobal Guerrero suffered on Tuesday an accident in the Dakar Argentina-Chile Rally 2009, which put him in coma, the Rally organizers said.
Guerrero felt down from the motorbike at the kilometer 160 at the 10th stage of the Rally, which was of 489km in the city of Copiapo, north of Chile. The causes of the accident continue being investigated.
A spokesman from the Rally said that alert of the accident arrived "at 12:38 hours local time and a medical helicopter "landed in the place of the accident at 13:06 hours local time."
The organizers also confirmed there is another injured pilot, but to the moment had not been identified.
After finishing the 9th stage, Guerrero was on 76th place of the general board on motorbike, 15 minutes and 38 seconds behind the 1st place Marco Coma (KTM).
On Jan. 7, Frenchman Pascal Terry was found dead after two days she suffered a fall during the 2nd stage at the Argentine part of the Rally.
