Organizers of the Dakar Rally cancelled Wednesday's 11th stage on Tuesday because of the predicted adverse weather conditions.
Tuesday's stage had already been disrupted by thick fog and organizers said they were in no mood to suffer similar delays on Wednesday.
"The weather forecast for Wednesday predicting thick fog till the end of the morning will upset the whole program for the stage," read a statement from the organizers.
"As a result, the stage is cancelled. The competitors will move on to Fiambala on Wednesday morning."
