New Real Madrid signing Julien Faubert said on Monday he was the perfect player to cover the needs of the reigning Spanish Champions.
Faubert has arrived at Real Madrid on loan from West Ham United, with Madrid having the option to make the signing permanent at the end of the season.
The Frenchman was signed to provide cover for the Real Madrid right and despite finding himself out of favor at West Ham, he insists he is a valid player for his new club.
"It's true that at first some people thought my signing was a joke, but in the transfer market a lot of things can happen," he said on the official Real Madrid website.
Speaking at his official presentation as a new Real Madrid player, the 25-year-old was confident he could do exactly what the club needed.
"My profile as a player corresponds completely at what the coach (Juande Ramos) is looking for. I can play at either right back or on the right hand side of midfield. Because of that, I think I am the type of player Real Madrid was looking for," he said.
"I have placed 18 games this season and with my physical characteristics and my pace, I think I can give the team a lot," added Faubert.
