Ivan Hasek was elected new chairman of the Czech Football Association (CMFS) at its general meeting on Saturday.
Hasek was supported by 104 and 63 delegates from the CMFS' Bohemian and Moravian branches, respectively, the Czech news agency CTK said.
Hasek's rival Ludek Vins, the owner of the Viktoria Zizkov club, won the support of 25 and seven delegates from the two branches, respectively, CTK added.
Hasek also sought the post of CMFS chairman four years ago, but failed to get sufficient support. At the time, the delegates elected Pavel Mokry, who did not seek re-election this year.
Hasek, 45 and a former player of Sparta Praha, played 56 matches for the Czech national soccer team. In the past years he worked as a coach, serving in Sparta, Strasbourg and Japan's Kobe successively. Most recently he coached Al-Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.
