China's No. 16 seed Li Na beat Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 to reach the fourth round at the Australian Open on Saturday.
Li's victory means China has two representives in the last 16 of this season's first Grand Slam tournament after countrywoman Zheng Jie upset 2007 Wimbledon finalist Marion Bartoli of France 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.
"It's a good sign for Chinese tennis," said Li.
Li's previous best performance in Grand Slam tournaments were quarterfinalists in Wimbledon Open in 2006 and the U.S. Open last year.
