Australian Mark Webber led from start to finish to win the Spanish F1 Grand Prix in the Montmelo race track, just outsider of Barcelona.

The Red Bull driver showed that his car is superior to others in the competition with a problem free drive on a fast race track.

The only changes from the grid happened when Lewis Hamilton was able to get past Webber's Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, whose car suffered from technical problems.

However, Hamilton's luck ran out in the penultimate lap when he crashed out of the race after his front left tire exploded, allowing Alonso to progress into second.

"I was able to advance two places in the last couple of laps, it is a bit of a present for me," commented the Spaniard who had been cheered on by the majority of the over 80,000 spectators during the race.

Meanwhile the win was the third Grand Prix Webber has won in his career, while Vettel was able to finish third.

Michael Schumacher produced his best race since coming out of retirement to finish in fourth position, while world championship leader Jenson Button was fifth.
