Kim Jong Hun, head coach of the Democratic People's Republic Korea (DPRK)'s soccer team, has disclosed that the initial goal of the team in the World Cup is to qualify for the second round.
According to the Chosun Sinbo, the team went to Switzerland on May 10 to have overseas training and warm-up matches with Greece and Paraguay. Kim told the media that he is confident about the World Cup because the team has been strengthened.
DPRK is in Group C with Brazil, Portugal and Cote d'Ivoire.
Kim noted that the DPRK team had gathered experience from the matches with more than 10 foreign teams. At the same time, the team has strengthened physical ability, skill and tactical ability.
Key player Hong Yong Jo said the first match with Brazil was very important.
He added if they can defeat Brazil, they will be greatly encouraged.
