Though winning the match, South Korea still failed to reach the semifinals as Australia and China booked the place.
South Korea failed to break Vietnam's solid defense until the 20th minute when Yoo Young A fired a loose ball into the net. Yoo added a header one minute later to double South Korea's advantage.
Vietnam's misery was compounded in the 28th minute when Cha Yun Hee's powerful shot went into the bottom net from her teammate's fine delivery.
Jung Hae In made a solo run to add the fourth in the 35th minute after spliting the defense.
Yoo Young A finished a hat-trick in the 65th minute by her tight-angle shot.
Hosts China edged Australia 1-0 in the other match on Sunday to reach the semifinals, while Australia have already made the semifinal on Friday with one match spare.
