Brazilian soccer fans celebrated the country's first victory at the World Cup on Tuesday, but they still are not satisfied with the premiere of their national team.
In Brazil's capital city Brasilia, soccer fans gathered at pub Sociedade Futeboleira Brasileira (Brazilian Soccer Society) to watch the play. Wearing yellow T-shirts and as many green-and-yellow accessories as possible, they danced and hugged after their national team scored the second goal to beat the Democratic People's Republic of Korea 2-1.
Despite the enthusiasm, some supporters are not satisfied with the performance of their national team's World Cup opener, saying that they expected Brazil to have score more goals.
Soccer fan Enio da Silva thought the performance their national team showed is quite below par.
"I am not satisfied with the result, the match was horrible. I can't feel the art of the soccer in their play. Players from (Brazilian team) Santos, such as Neymar and Ganso, should have appeared at South Africa World Cup," he said.
"The DPR Korea played quite well. Excellent defense," he added.
Despite winning the match, the Brasilian team faces criticism from domestic media and home fans. Comments from Brazilian website UOL even said that the national team made too many mistakes and acted like amateurs.
But still many fans believed in their team.
"Our team played very offensively and managed to score two goals, placing our country first in group G. I am confident that they will have only victories from now on," said a soccer fan Alhandran Eleuterio.
