Brazilian Olympic champion swimmer Cesar Cielo opened the 2010 Swimming World Cup in Rio de Janeiro by winning the 100 meters freestyle on Saturday.
Cielo, the Olympic champion and world-record holder in the event, finished the event with a time of 47.16 seconds. Second place went to German Steffen Deibler, finishing close behind with 47.18 seconds.
Brazilian Andre Daut finished in third place, earning a bronze medal with a time of 47.78 seconds.
