Japanese judoka Ayumi Tanimoto, who has won two Olympic gold medals, intends to hang up her judogi and work as a coach, revealed All Japan Judo Federation on Friday.
According to All Japan Judo Federation technical director Kazuo Yoshimura, the 29-year-old has lost her motivation to compete for the world's top ranking and planned to coach in the future.
Tanimoto, who win the 63-kilogram class gold medals at both the 2004 Athens Olympics and 2008 Beijing Games by ippon, is expected to make a formal announcement at a press conference on Tuesday.
