Atletico Madrid's Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan admitted this Tuesday that should the right offer come along he would be prepared to leave the club.

Forlan, along with fellow striker Kun Aguero has been vital to the club for the past three seasons, scoring 66 league goals in his first three campaigns and helping Atletico conquer last season's Europa League title.

The 31 year-old has a contract until the end of 2013 and has already shown his loyalty to the club by rejecting several offers from elsewhere, however, he refuses to say that he will never abandon the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

The Uruguayan used his "Twitter" account to clear up an misunderstanding that had arisen in an interview he had given and in doing so, made clear that he would consider a move.

"If an offer arrives that is good for the club and also good for me then I would listen to it, as we always do, but I am happy at Atletico Madrid," he said.

Forlan said that the misunderstanding had arisen when a previous interview he had given had been badly translated.

The striker was thought to have been the subject of interest from English clubs Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs over the summer.
