Gilbert Arenas was fined by his club Washington Wizards for faking an injury in order to skip the team's first NBA pre-season home game.
Wizards coach Flip Saunders said on Wednesday that Arenas was fined an undisclosed amount for claiming to have a sore knee prior to Wizards's game against Atlanta on Tuesday.
Arenas said after the game that he only pretended to be hurting to give teammate Nick Young a chance to start.
The contest would have been Arenas' first game at home since his 50-game NBA suspension and felony conviction for bringing guns into the team's locker room last season.
