The FIFA Ethics Committee announced on Thursday its decision to suspend six FIFA officials from taking part in any football-related activities after they were found to have “breached various articles of FIFA code of Ethics”, in the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
According to FIFA, the decisions were taken during a three-day meeting of its Ethics Committee held in Zurich between 15 and 17 November.
Two FIFA executive committee members, Amos Adamu and Reynald Temarii are among the penalized, with three-year and one-year suspension respectively.
In regard with the alleged agreements between FIFA member associations in bidding the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Ethics Committee said it “did not find enough evidence of a violation of the Bid Registration document and the Code of Ethics”.
