Struggling German Bundesliga club Bremen staged a stunning performance at their last appearance at Europe's premier competition when they defeated the defending UEFA Champions League champions Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Bremen took over control with 30 minutes into the match while Milan showed no interest to stage offensive actions since they are already qualified for the round of last sixteen.

Consequently, Bremen opened the scoring at the 38th minute when defender Sebastian Proedel nodded home a corner from eight meters. Bremen kept it bowling and extended the lead with only four minutes into second half.

Former youngster Inter striker Marko Arnautovic scored a terrific goal for his new squad Bremen when he volleyed home a cross from the left wing to double the lead.

Inter Milan staged a dull performance so that Bremen went one better two minutes before final whistle when Bremen striker Claudio Pizzaro who controlled a diagonal pass to score with a well placed shot from 20 meters to mark the final 3-0 score.

Nevertheless, Tottenham and Milan qualified for the round of last sixteen in group A.
