Diarra would have plenty of suitors if he did decide to call time on his Real Madrid career. |
Real Madrid's French international midfielder Lassana Diarra refused to rule out leaving the club in the near future on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old joined Madrid from Portsmouth at the start of 2009, but after a successful opening 18 months, he lost his place in the starting 11 at the start of this season.
Diarra returned to action in his side's 3-1 win in Zaragoza on Sunday and produced an excellent display, but he has made no secret of his desire to play more football.
"I am at Real Madrid and I have a contract," said the midfielder in the online version of Diario AS.
"Things were more complicated a month and a half ago. I hope to play here, everyone knows me and I shall weigh things up. I am currently thinking about the next game we have (against Sevilla), but I don't know if I will carry one here," said Diarra.
The midfielder has struggled to play since the arrival of Sami Khedira from Stuttgart in the summer and this is not the first time he has had doubts about remaining at the club.
"In October, I said I would weigh things up and now I am playing, but we will have to see what happens. I am not too worried about it, I am trying to enjoy my football and then we will see what happens," said Diarra, who has previously played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth.
