The torch relay of the 16th Asian Games kicked off Friday at northeastern Chinese Changchun city, which is the host city of the sixth Asian Winter Games.

Xin Qingshan, the coach of winter Olympic speed skating champion Wang Meng, was the first torch bearer at 10 a.m. Friday.

A total of 16 torch bearers covered 1.2 kilometers of the relay.
