China's strongwoman Wang Mingjuan lifted a total of 210kg in the women's 48kg to defend her title at the Guangzhou Asiad on Saturday.

With only eight lifters participating, Wang met no challenge as the 25-year-old lifter snatched 95kg and jerked 115kg, breaking the Asiad record in total of 206kg, which was set by herself last time in Doha.

"It's fantastic to win the Asiad gold again, especially in Guangzhou, China," said Wang after the competition.

As the world champion in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2009, Wang took the lead in both the snatch and clean and jerk.

Leading in the snatch at 95kg, Wang was the last one to lift in the jerk. She jerked 110kg in her first attempt to secure the gold medal and continued to lift 115kg before failing at 117kg.

Laosirikul Pensiri of Thailand took the silver at 192kg, while Chen Weiling from Chinese Taipei gained the bronze at 191kg.

After winning four world championships and two Asian Games golds, Wang expressed her desire for an Olympic gold in London 2012.

"I missed the Athens and the Beijing Olympics due to some reasons. So I extremely hope that I can be given the chance to the London Olympics," said Wang, who insisted an Olympic gold was the only incentive for her to continue training.
