ROK cyclists set new record at Asian Games

South Korean cyclists set new Asian record in men's team pursuit round one at Asian Games on Monday.

The South Korean quartet of Jang Sunjae, Hwang Inhyeok, Cho Ho Sung and Park Seon Ho set the Asian record of four minutes 06.598 seconds, 3.234 faster than the previous mark set by their Chinese rivals earlier in round one.

Jang also rewrote Asian record in men's individual pursuit qualifying and grabbed the gold of the event on Sunday.

They will battle on Tuesday for the gold with the Hong Kong quartet, who finished in four minutes 08.835 seconds in round one. China and Iran will strive for bronze.

In men's sprint quarterfinals, China's Zhang Lei, Japanese Kitatsuru Tsubasa and Nitta Yudai, Malaysian Awang Azizulhasni qualify for the semifinal on Wednesday. China's Guo Shuang and Lin Junhong, Hong Konger Lee Wai Sze and Korea's Kim Wongyeong cruised to women's sprint semifinals.
