Jiao Liuyang, 19, runner-up of the 200m butterfly at Beijing Olympic Games, collected her third gold at Guangzhou Asiad by winning the title of the event on Monday.

The 19-year-old dominated the race to touch the wall first in two minutes and 5.79 seconds, beating her Japanese rival, silver medallist Natsumi Hoshi, by 2.17 seconds.

South Korean Choi Hye Ra took a bronze in 2:08.39.

"My time was just OK," said Jiao, bronze medallist of the 100m butterfly at 2009 Rome world championships. "I got a gold medal, so I've done my job. In the first half I didn't swim very well that I couldn't speed up but in the last 100m I got faster."

"Now I am concerned about the 50m butterfly because I am not fast enough in that event," she added. "It's possible that I will not win the gold."

"I didn't swim my best time," said Hoshi. "But I did my best in the race."
