FINA signs 4-year agreement with MideaFINA has established a four-year partnership agreement with Midea, a leading company in China, one of the fastest growing markets in the world, president of FINA announced in Guangzhou on Thursday during the Asian Games. Julio Cesar Maglione, president of the International Aquatics Federation, FINA, said they are proud of having Midea as FINA's first ever Chinese partner. Accordingt to the partnerships agreement, Midea will be appeared in the 2011 and 2013 long course World Championships and two short course worlds. "We will organize the FINA World Championships in Shanghai next July, and I am sure that together with Midea, a great Chinese FINA partner, we will deliver a memorable championships," said Dr. Maglione. "More than 2500 athletes from 180 nations and regions are present in this competition which was broadcasted in 2009 to over 3.5 billion TV viewers in the five continents." Maglione said that Diving and China are presently almost synonymous words. "The quality of Chinese athletes and their world supremacy in this discipline make diving a national sport in this huge market." So far, FINA/Midea Diving World Series 2011-2013 is well organized as the top-level diving competition which are attractive to the most prestigious divers in the world and held in attractive cities and locations. "We are honored and proud of this agreement. A new win-win strategy is now in place, as your success is also our success," said the FINA president. |
