Ye Shiwen of China took the gold medal of women's 200m individual medley at the ongoing 16th Asian Games on Thursday, after her gold in the 400-meter individual medley last Sunday.

Ye clocked 2:09.37 for the gold medal, followed by her compatriot Wang Qun in the second place at 2:12.02. The bronze medal was taken by Choi Hye-ra of South Korea in 2:12.85.

The 14-year-old teenager from east China's Hangzhou city began swimming at the age of six after her kindergarten teacher noticed her large hands, the city's Qianjiang Evening News reported.
