Wang/Zhang take China's fifth table tennis gold in Asiad

Wang Hao/Zhang Jike took China's fifth table tennis gold in the Asian Games on Friday as they won an all-Chinese final against Ma Lin/Xu Xin.

The last time China won the Asian Games doubles title was in 1998 when Liu Guoliang combined with Kong Linghui for the victory.

Liu is now head coach of the Chinese men's team while Kong is a coach of the women's team.,

In last Asian Games in Doha, Ma Lin and Chen Qi lost to Hong Kong players Ko Lai Chak/Li Ching in the final.

Wang Hao/Zhang Jike made it to the final after beating South Korean Jeoung Young-Sik/Kim Min-Seok and Ma Lin/Xu Xin defeated Japanese Kenta Matsudaira/Koki Niwa in the other semifinal.

Wang/Zhang took a surprising 10-0 lead before taking the first set 12-2 and the second 12-10..

Ma/Xu fought back to win the following two sets 12-10, 11-9 but Wang/Zhang didn't give them any more chances and took the two sets 11-5, 11-3.

The men's and women's singles finals will take place on Saturday.
