The Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz announced on Monday the name of the players chosen to play the World Cup finals in South Africa. But he will have to wait until next week to have all players.
"We are in some way anxious because there are still some important games going on, the Cup Final in Portugal, some championship games in Italy, Spain and Germany, and only after those games we will be able to have all players", said Queiroz.
The Portuguese national team will train for two weeks at Covilha, 350 kilometres northeast of Lisbon, that has the same altitude as Gauteng, where they will play their first game.
Instead of choosing 23 players, Queiroz is taking 24 to Covilha. That's because the Brazilian born Pepe, from Real Madrid, is still recovering from a surgery and there is doubt if he will be able to play in South Africa.
Having as top player Cristiano Ronaldo, apart from Pepe, the Portuguese team will have two Brazilian born players of Deco, from Chelsea, and Liedson, from Sporting Portugal.
