Foreign World Cup journalists robbed in South Africa

Three foreign journalists in South Africa to cover the FIFA World Cup were robbed at a lodge 40 kilometers from Johannesburg early on Wednesday morning.
Held up by two armed men in their rooms, they were robbed of laptops, cameras, money and passports.
The journalists from Portugal were asleep in their chalets at Nutbush Boma Lodge in Magaliesburg northwest of Joahnnesburg at the time of the robbery at around 4: 00 a.m..
South African police spokesman Hangwani Mulaudzi told the Star newspaper in Johannesburg that one of the robbers pointed a gun at one of the journalists, told him to lie down and then ransacked his room.
The robbers then went to the room of the other two journalists who remained asleep while the robbers ransacked their rooms.
"They took laptops, cameras and passports. No shots were fired and no one was injured. The other two did not see or hear anything. "
Mulaudzi said the journalist only raised the alarm at 6:30. " We don't know why he told the lodge so late, maybe he was scared and wanted to make sure that the robbers had left before doing anything."
Police had already combed the area and were busy tracking the suspects and would hopefully make an arrest soon. "We have a good lead," Mulaudzi said.
