Argentina beat South Korea by a humiliating 4-0, including an own goal.

Thousands of Argentine soccer fans gathered on Thursday at the symbolic monument Obelisco in Buenos Aires and other cities of the country, to celebrate the triumph 4-1 of the national soccer team over South Korea at the World Cup of South Africa 2010.

The match arouse great interest among the Argentine people, who watched it on TV. The school authorities allowed their students to watch the match at the school.

Most of the streets in Buenos Aires and the main cities of the country were empty, but in calm and expectation, which were broken when Argentina scored.

The sound of the trumpets broke the silence.

In Buenos Aires, the people were wearing the T-shirt of the national team and also gathered in San Martin Square and Centenario Park, where the government of the city placed mega screens for the people to watch the match.

Buenos Aires mayor Mauricio Macri, accompanied by the chief of the cabinet Horacio Rodriguez Larreta joined the fans in San Martin Square.

The bars were full of fans who were excited with the performance of their national team, which is about to get the ticket for the second round after having achieved two consecutive victories: 1-0 over Nigeria and 4-1 over South Korea.

The last match of Argentina at the group stage will be on Tuesday against Greece.
