Two Kenyan football fans were killed on Friday night in a pub brawl after Ghana's loss at the World Cup quarterfinals.
The two young men brawled moments after the Ghana team, known as the Black Stars, lost their quarterfinal match against Uruguay in penalties.
Nairobi police Chief Anthony Kibuchi said on Saturday the first victim was stabbed in the stomach and died on the spot while the attacker was lynched by the mob at a bar in the outskirts of Nairobi.
The two were among hundreds of fans who were watching the match between Ghana and Uruguay at the Githurai Kimbo residential estate, about 20 kilometers east of Nairobi.
The two reportedly differed as they predicted scores, soon after the first goal was scored.
One of the men was stabbed before a crowd intervened and the culprit was consequently beaten to death by the mob.
"Trouble started when a group of youths differed on predictions of results after Ghana's opener," said Kibuchi.
Ghana's chance to make history as the first African team to reach a World Cup semifinal ended Friday night after they bowed out of the tournament in penalties.
