Japan defeats South Korea in ice hockey preliminary at Asian Winter Games

Japan defeated South Korea 10-0 in ice hockey tournament preliminary at the 7th Asian Winter Games in Almaty at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace on Friday.

The Japanese hockey players attacked the rivals' gate from the first minute of the game.

The first four goals were scored by Hakamura Ami on 23 minutes, before Shimozawa Saki scored at 15, Eguchi Tomo in the 14th minute and Hirano Yuka at 17 at first period of the game.

Fujimoto Nachi, who scored twice, was the most active player throughout the match, but they are Japanese Yoneyama Haruna and South Korea's Lee Younghwa who were named the best players of the game.

The official opening of the 7th Winter Asian Games will be launched on January 30, however, the ice hockey tourney has begun two days earlier as the arena of Baluan Sholak Sports Palace has to be ready for closing ceremony of the Games on February 6.
