Mourinho complains about fixtures as Real Madrid draw in La Coruna

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho this Sunday complained that the organization of the Spanish fixture calendar was damaging his side's chances of winning the BBVA Primera Liga title.
The coach spoke after a 0-0 draw in La Coruna saw them slip back to seven points behind league leader FC Barcelona.
Madrid controlled the match, but missed their chances to win, although Mourinho was unhappy that they had to play on a Saturday night after having had a Champions League visit to Lyon last Tuesday.
"I don't know what would have happened if we had played on Sunday, but it would have been fairer. It would have given us an extra day for the most tired players to recover and we could have trained for an extra day," he said in Sunday's edition of sports paper Diario AS.
The Madrid coach implied that the decision to make his side play on Thursday was part of a conspiracy to stop them winning the Primera Liga.
"While I am at Madrid I will defend the interests of the fans, even though they are laughing behind our backs. The fixture calendar is drawn up by people who know what they are doing, it is not normal that after a European game that we have to play on Saturday."
"They do what they want and they will carry on like that. One day we can sit down and look at the dates because it is impossible to deny what is happening," said Mourinho, who nevertheless thought his side were unlucky to only draw.
"We have only taken a point, but I can't criticize my players. Only one team tried to win, the other worked to defend and they got their reward, 1-0 for us would have been the fairest result," concluded Mourinho.
