Former NBA champions San Antonio Spurs will miss their point guard Tony Parker for two to four weeks after the Frenchman strained his left calf muscle, the team said on Monday.

Parker suffered the injury in the Spurs' 95-88 victory over Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday after colliding with Memphis guard Mike Conley in the second quarter.

He will thus miss this week's trip to Memphis and Cleveland, as well as the home games hosting LeBron James' Miami Heat on Friday and the reigning champion Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

The French star, who is in his 10th season with the Spurs, is averaging 17.1 points, 6.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds a game. He will start his rehabilitation program this week in San Antonio.

The Spurs now have the NBA's best record of 49-10, holding a six-game edge on Dallas and Boston.
