Guangzhou Evergrand have enjoyed a four-game wining streak as they nailed a 3-1 victory over Henan Jianye in Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday.
The newly promoted remained unbeaten with five victories and two draws, making them still on top of the table, one point ahead of Beijing and Hangzhou.
The home team mounted stifling attacking waves after the kick- off, only to see their forwards missed four or five chances in the first half that they completely dominated. Then it was the struggling visitor who broke the deadlock as Brazilian foward Leandro Netto scored in the 70th minutes.
But the following 20 minutes saw the comeback of the hosts as Zheng Zhi, Ye Weichao and Feng Xiaoting finished on Jiang Ning's assist triple.
"We had wasted too much chances, this will be one of our major obstacles against a stronger team," said Guangzhou's coach Lee Jang-soo.
But the 55-year-old South Korean was more than happy to embrace the victory at home. "I would like to dedicate the victory to our fans, who had stood out in the rain for two hours. They gave us the spirit to win," added Lee Jang-soo.
