Midfielder Andrea Pirlo has been confirmed by AC Milan to leave the club after 10 seasons, while both Alessandro Nesta and Filippo Inzaghi have agreed to one-year extensions.

The 31-year-old had his contract expired on June 30, but he has agreed to leave the club after a season that saw him limited to 17 appearances for the Rossoneri in Serie A because of injury.

"I am here to say goodbye," he was quoted by Sky Sport Italia as saying. "These were 10 unforgettable years and it's a consensual separation. Do I hope Milan will regret losing me? Yes. "

Pirlo has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer, while Nesta will return to the San Siro after making 26 starts for the club this season.

Inzaghi, 37, has also signed on for one more year after scoring two goals in six league appearances.

The moves come just one day after Milan signed a trio of players to new deals, with defender Thiago Silva, midfielder Mark van Bommel and reserve goalkeeper Flavio Roma each extending their stay.
