Dutch international defender Joris Mathijsen has signed for Spanish first division team Malaga from Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
The 31-year-old has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third year, but no details were given of the value of the transfer.
Mathijsen started his professional career in 1998 with Willem II in the Netherlands before joining AZ Alkmaar in 2004 and then Hamburg two years later.
He will join up another Dutchman at Malaga, striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
