China continued their unbeaten run, beating Syria 90-71 on Monday night.

Host China continues its winning streak at the 26th FIBA ASIA Championship by topping Syria 90-71 Monday night, setting the stage for an explosive final two days of second round action.

China will play Jordan tomorrow and Japan on Wednesday.

"We got another chance to spread the playing time," said Donewald, head coach of China.

Yi Jianlian was the leader of the China's offense for the day and ended up with a game-high 19 points.

Donewald picked his player of the day as Su Wei, who had 14 points.

"The big guy did a lot of work for us."

Donewald continued to maintain that the real competition for his team began only in the play-offs.

"We are getting ready and we are getting there," Donewald said.

Syria coach Goran Miljevic was rather upbeat despite the defeat.

"I am not at all disappointed, because our plans worked out. We too in fact used the game for giving our bench a chance. We have important games coming up," he said.

Syria play UAE tomorrow and Philippines on Tuesday and need to win both games to stay in contention for a place in the quarterfinals.
