World and Olympic champion Lin Dan added a first Superseries Finals title to his trophy haul yesterday with a 21-12, 21-16 success over Chinese compatriot Chen Long in the men's singles final in Liuzhou, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Chen had disposed of titleholder and world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in the semifinals but once again found Lin too strong, losing for the fourth time from four career matches against his illustrious teammate.
The women's title at the season-ending US$500,000 tournament went to China's world No. 1 Wang Yihan who came from behind to beat India's Commonwealth champion Saina Nehwal 18-21, 21-13, 21-13.
China also lifted the women's doubles and mixed doubles crowns but Danish men's duo Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen beat Chai Biao and Guo Zhendong 25-23, 21-7 to prevent a clean-sweep.
Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang beat Ha Jun-eun and Kim Min-jung of South Korea 21-8, 21-12 to win the women's doubles final while the mixed doubles title went to Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei who beat compatriots Xu Chen and Ma Jin 21-13, 21-15.
