Manila Bay Seasports Festival 2012 kicked off at the Manila Ocean Park on Saturday morning, hundreds of participants and thousands of audience will enjoy the Philippine edition of "The Fast and Furious" in this two-day event.

The annual festival, which is now on its 12th year, attracted 12 dragon boat clubs and 50 "bankas" (motorboat) racers from different regions of Philippines, who will respectively vie for the champion of dragon boat competition and motorboat championship.

Before the first dragon boat's paddles slipped into the water, the Chinese traditional ceremony of "Dotting the Eyes of Dragon" was hold, which was said to awaken the spirit of the dragon, and give the dragon boats and their crew the strength of the dragon.

According to the organizer of the event, Saturday will witness the elimination games, and the fiercer and exciting finals for both kinds of boats will be held on Sunday.
